We headed out on our vacation on Saturday morning. We took SR 14 along the Columbia and decided to stop for lunch at Bonneville Dam. We walked up to the fish ladder viewing area and information center, the kids couldn't get enough. Next time we are going to do the I-84 side of the dam (Oregon side), they have a 10' sturgeon in an aquarium. 
After the Dam tour we decided to take US 35 over the mountain to Bend. We haven't taken this route going south before so that was new and a nice change of scenery. The views of Hood are GREAT!
We arrived at Great Grandma Jean's house before dinner and had so much fun playing outside, visiting, playing marbles and just hanging out.
